Skylark f20 in, Goldfinch 300 E, Reed bunting 1 E, Chaffinch 1 E, Swallow 20 E, House martin 2 E, Starling 20 W.

Maze Hill to South Saxons 9.15-12.00
Birds passing E or arriving from SW on a steady bearing. As the sky to the west darkened again an intermittent passage of birds came over South Saxons from the direction of the beach. Those identified were;-
Starling 88, Woodpigeon 100, Stock dove 35, Chaffinch 55, Goldfinch 206, Linnet 2, Siskin 4, Redpoll 6, Crossbill 2, Reed bunting 1, Skylark 17, Woodlark 1, Rook 3, Pied wagtail 9, Meadow pipit 14, Song thrush 6, Fieldfare 2, Swallow 3, House martin 2.
(A hirundine at 10.50 twice circling 20 mtrs above near South Saxons Lake gave poor views and was either a hybrid between House martin and Swallow or else a first winter Red-rumped swallow).
