Hairy Shieldbugs

We quite often see Shieldbugs in our Fairlight garden- several common species including the attractive Hairy Shieldbug– here two are warming up on a sunflower. A week before this photo was taken I also saw a couple of nymphs of this species, again on a sunflower.

Shieldbug nymphs can cause identification problems as they look like fully grown insects and are quite different to the adults. See the excellent
