More Cricket…..

Out for a walk in the top half of Alexandra Park my wife, Nicki, stopped to admire the rose garden. Whilst there I came across this little lady, a Speckled Bush Cricket. A female as it is wingless.

We also had a stroll round Guestling Wood and whilst passing some small Silver Birch I saw what initially appeared to be dead leaves, but taking a closer look I believe they are Early Thorn moth chrysalis’.

I then spied a Harvestman struggling under what appeared to be the weight, what i thought initially to be, eggs. It turns out the red ‘blobs’ are mites – the eggs are white.
