Blue-bordered carpet

I still don’t seem to be getting many moths in my Fairlight garden trap, despite better trapping weather, about a dozen species at present. However there was one nice one this morning, a Blue-bordered carpet, a garden first. It flew off before I could get a decent picture, a frequent problem on warmer mornings.

This is described as “common” [aren’t they all ?], but its distribution in E Sussex seems patchy and it has not been recorded in HCPNR.
