….more Filsham Reedbed

Just to add….whilst doing some work at Filsham on Saturday I came across these two interesting species….
Along the boardwalk several Drinker Moth caterpillars were quite happy to sun themselves….

When we were walking out we spied what initially we thought to be a small butterfly, which was quite lively and was difficult to get a picture of as it continually flew off when approached. However, I managed a couple of pics, this being the better one. As soon as I loaded it on to my pc I knew it was a moth, so then it was a case of finding which one as it looked quite worn.
Its a Burnet Companion, a day flying moth, so called as it tends to be found in conjunction with Burnet moths. When fresh in appearance they are quite stunning, though the underwings of this one are still very nicely marked.
