Filsham reedbed….ish

A couple of hours spent wandering round the reedbed. No sedge warbler present. However, numerous chiffchaff clamouring around each other over territory, at least a dozen blackcap. A solitary swallow flew over, my first for the year. A distant marsh harrier disappeared up the valley whilst a few minutes later 3 buzzards appeared just this side of the valley ridge on the hastings side, two proceeded to lock talons and seemingly fall to the ground only to re appear moments later. They continued to fly very closely following the ridge toward hastings with the third languishing behind. I can only recall seeing solitary buzzards in the vicinty twice in around ten years, maybe this is a sign of thints to come!
A water rail squeeled away whilst many bees buzzed.
Two male orange tip butterflies fluttered with much purpose.
