Rock-a-Nore

An hours seawatch from 6.30 this morning was pretty uneventful, but enlivened by a rare appearance of a Harbour Porpoise heading E, attended by a small group of gulls.

There were 110 Great Black Backs this morning, mostly young birds, and one of these spent most of the time I was there breaking up and swallowing in small pieces a discarded polystyrene food container, with some Herring Gulls joining in occasionally. By the time I left they had eaten half the box.
