Spring Usher

Having been away for some time, I’ve just started moth regular moth trapping in our Fairlight garden.

Apart from a couple of micro moths found in the house in winter, I’ve caught just 4 species so far: the common Light Brown Apple Moth and Common Quaker earlier this week, and today a Dotted Border and the nicely named Spring Usher.

The latter was a new one for our garden list, it flies from January-March on mild nights and is “fairly common ” in England and Wales
