Bit late for this month, but a quick update for Filsham Reedbed.
The volunteer group met on the 11th, when it was still rather cold (see picture below). The Sniggles Fen area of the reedbed is nearly completed, with much of the willow cleared and the blackthorn pushed back to the dyke. Both species had encroached considerably in this area. Several areas have had the reeds deliberately cleared where as others have been accidental due to the work being undertaken.
This area of the reedbed, and two adjacent sections are now looking more like reedbeed.
These sections have taken considerable effort on the part of two teams of volunteers. If you would like to join us please contact me.
