Rock-a-Nore 0720-0845:
Curlew 9, Common Scoter 1, Gannet 1, Red Breasted Merganser 2, Lesser Black Backed Gull 5 ads., Kittiwake 1, Greylag Goose 17 [2 groups], Great Crested Grebe 8, Mallard 2, duck sp 15 in mist. All going E

  1. Also Rock-a-Nore, flying very low and close to shingle, sure I saw a Razorbill,been checking images on the interwebs between Razorbills and Guillemots, sure it was Razorbill, first one I’ve seen here.

      Thankyou for your valid comment. A few Auk species have been seen from Hastings in the last week or so, but probably too far off-shore to identify. Some Razorbills and Guillemots were seen from the Harbour Arm, close inshore, at the beginning of January this year, heading west in a force 8. They were racing along at quite a speed – quite fascinating to watch.
