HCPNR Firehills-Hastings mostly Ecclesbourne Meadow area 0700-1120:
Goldfinch 120 W + c300 both ways, Redpoll 50, Siskin c50 both ways. Linnet 15 W, Skylark 5W, Crossbill 5 flying around, Meadow Pipit 15, Goldcrest 5, Firecrest 1 Barn Pond [AP: one of very few this year and the first in HCPNR], Chiffchaff 1, Brambling 3, Song Thrush 5

West Hill 07.40 – 08.30
Siskin 119E, Goldfinch 1110E, Great Spotted Woodpecker 1E, Redpoll 2E, Linnet 8W. 5 Robins.

A flock of 13 Brent Geese W close inshore at 10.25

  1. I thought I saw a tornado forming off the coast of hastings today, so I Googled it and the only result that came up was your blog. But then I couldn’t find if you had indeed mentioned it in your blog or not. So, just to confirm I am not going crazy – did you see something that looked like a tornado today? Many thanks, Katie

    • Thank you for your message. Someone did report a tornado to me about 4.15pm today, and I did consider putting it up on the page but I didn’t in the end as that particular blog is essentially about the autumn migration. Maybe someone else wrote about it…?—–
