One of the best mornings to date, after several windy days :

HCPNR Firehills-Hastings 0710-1020
Redpoll 37 W, Siskin 340 W [this is a record count, previous maxima being 296 Oct 14 2009, 255 Oct 7 2010], Linnet 930 W [easily a record count, previous maxima being 334 Oct 11 2009, 234 Oct 7 2010 ], Goldfinch 870 W, Crossbill 93 W (incl f35-easily a record count), Chaffinch 50 W, Greenfinch 10 W, Reed Bunting 16 W, Swallow 26 W, House Martin 170 W, Meadow Pipit 133 W, Pied Wagtail 24 W, Starling 2W, Skylark 26 W, Great Spotted Woodpecker 1 in/E high
14 Chiffchaffs, 8 Goldcrests, 1 Blackcap.

West St Leonards cliffs 7.25-9.05
Many birds moving West with the following noted;- Meadow pipit 94, Pied wagtail 23, Grey wagtail 1, House martin 220, Swallow 120, Linnet 1,397, Goldfinch 585, Crossbill 42, Siskin 119, Redpoll 37, Chaffinch 153, Reed bunting 5, Yellowhammer 2.

White Rock 9.20-10.20
The Westerly movement continuing with;- Meadow pipit 28, Pied wagtail 14, House martin 85, Swallow 53, Linnet 382, Goldfinch 132, Crossbill 11, Siskin 34, Chaffinch 7, Skylark 3, Reed bunting 1.
3 Robins, 2 Chiffchaffs.

Cliff End – Fairlight 07.00 – 08.30
All westerly passage: Siskin 240, Goldfinch 430, Chaffinch 14, Redpoll 346, Linnet 120, House Martin 41, Swallow 10, Meadow Pipit 23, Pied Wagtail 10, Grey Wagtail 1.
Fairly continuous passage with the finches in flocks of 5 to 100, also approx. a further 500 birds in finch flocks, unidentified due to lack of call or too distant.
