Hastings autumn bird migration 2011

SW variable f3 or 4 occasionally 5, 8/8ths clearing later

White Rock 6.25-7.25
Very little visible migration at dawn.
Pied wagtail 34W, Meadow pipit 2W, Swallow 10W, Black-headed gull 16W.
(After the recent days of good passage some of the Pied wagtails this morning seemed in part to be dispersing from the town centre winter roost. AG).
1 Song thrush, 1 Wheatear, 16 Robins, 2 Chiffchaffs.

Fairlight-Hastings 0700-0915
Siskin 25 E 25 W, Pied Wagtail 9E 8W, Grey Wagtail 1W and 2 at Hastings Crazy Golf lake, Goldfinch 39W 17E, Meadow Pipit 15 W, Linnet 13 W, House Martin 20W, Swallow 14 W, Crossbill 2W
4 Wheatear, 1 Stonechat. 1 Ring Ouzel [coastguards], 37 Chiffchaff, 13 Goldcrest, 1 Hobby chasing Swallows, 10 Redpoll.

Torfield 07.15 – 07.40
7 Chiffchaffs, 9 Robins, 1 Blackcap.

West Hill 07.40 – 09.00
Chaffinch 49 W, Swallow 20 W, Grey Wagtail 6 E, Meadow Pipit 3 E & 1 in off, Pied Wagtail 4 E, Linnet 13 E. 10 Robins, 9 Wheatear in, 7 Chiffchaffs.
