SSE then SW f1-2 or 3 later, early low cloud clearing, good.

House Martin 1095 W, Swallow 80W 21E, Sand Martin 1W, Grey Wagtail 1E, Pied Wagtail 4E 2W, Yellow Wagtail 1W, Meadow Pipit 15 W, Siskin 68 W, Chaffinch 35W 7E, Goldfinch 20E , Reed Bunting 2W, Crossbill 2W [AP: the first I’ve seen since the end of the almost daily summer records on Aug 10], Chiffchaff 40, Goldcrest 11, Whinchat 1 , Spotted Flycatcher 1. No Whitethroats seen.

Torfield 07.15 – 07.50
House Martin 10w, Swallow 13w. 13 Robins, 10 chiffchaffs, 1 Blackcap.

West Hill 07.50 – 08.40
Swallow 34w, 3e, House Martin 37w, Meadow Pipit 12w, Chaffinch 14e. 7 Robins, 3 Chiffchaffs.

West St Leonards to Pebsham marsh 7.30-9.30
Occasional records of Swallows including 50 s out to sea and 80 or more feeding over reeds. 20 Meadow pipits over. A single Bar-tailed godwit flying e over cliffs.
1 Wheatear at Bulverhythe Fields. 1 Siskin. 1 Grey wagtail.

North Seat 15.30
Some intermittent swallow passage east during afternoon. 3 Chiffchaffs, 2 Blackcaps and also 4 Bullfinch noted
