Hastings autumn bird migration 2011

Saturday 10th September
SSE or S, SW later f4, 4/8ths, humid, moderate to good

HCPNR Fairlight-East Hill via Barley Lane and Ecclesbourne Meadow, 0630-1030 AP
Meadow Pipit 85W, Tree Pipit 1W, Yellow Wagtail 20W, Grey Wagtail 6W, Siskin 27W, Chaffinch 8W, Swallow 66W and flock 45SE, House Martin 35W, Sand Martin 8W,
Wheatear 3, Reed Bunting 2, Spotted Flycatcher 1, Goldcrest 2, Chiffchaff 20, Whitethroat just 5, indicating departure of breeding population.

White Rock 7.35 – 9.15 AG
A movement of birds between S or W passing over at height;- Yellow wagtail 11, Grey wagtail 6, Pied wagtail 2 and Meadow pipit 14.
Also 2 Great spotted woodpeckers passed west and a third remained.
13 Robins, 4 Wheatears, 1 Lesser whitethroat and 2 Goldcrests.

West Hill 07.30 – 08.15 SB
Pied Wagtail 3w, Yellow Wagtail 1w, finch sp. 5w, Swallow 5e, Meadow Pipit 3w, Willow warbler 2, Wheatear 1.
