Hastings Autumn Migration Survey 2011

Wheatear

Rock-a-Nore 0645-0800 AP : A large but gradually decreasing westerly movement of Terns, at times difficult to identify in dark, stormy lighting. Totals were 222 Sandwich and 157 Common, unclear whether this was migration or local movement to a favoured feeding are. Otherwise just 4 Common Scoters W, and a juvenile Mediterranean Gull, probably the same one as yesterday.

Fairlight [grazing fields just E of Market Wood] 1550 AP: 7 Yellow Wagtail, 1 Wheatear. [This was at the end of a walk from Rye , during which I saw good numbers of Yellow Wagtails and several Wheatears.]
