Fairlight Cove Birds

Cliff End beach and Cliffs looking west

A walk down to the far end of the Cove started well with an unseasonal Guillemot on the sea at Cliff End, and Raven and Peregrine over the cliffs. A Little Egret was on rocks on the west side of the Cove-my impression is that they are ranging further towards the Country Park these days. As yesterday, hundreds of Sandwich [mostly] and Common Terns were moving west to feed, with them were 3 Kittiwakes.
4 Eiders were on the sea off the west end of the cove, these have been around for some time; 7 Common Scoters flew west as did a male close inshore accompanied by a Mallard.
