After the strong winds

A belated post due to broadband problems…

After the strong winds last Saturday I took a walk along the beach at Fairlight Cove to see if anything interesting had washed up. Nothing at all, but when I moved to the cliffs I found that the strand line was at the base of the cliffs and even slightly up the sloping mudslides. In a small area I found a lot of small bunches of black cuttlefish eggs, and the carapaces of 3 different crabs. From top to bottom they are: Edible Crab, Common Shore Crab and Spiny Spider Crab.

As usual, a couple of Crossbills flew over, and 2 Little Egrets were feeding in the rock pools.
