Tree Sparrow

A brief visit to Firehills [Hastings Country Park NR] yesterday morning produced a Crossbill flying E [a friend saw 10 over Fairlight the previous day], and, most unexpectedly a Tree Sparrow calling in clifftop scrub at the bottom of Waites Lane; it flew strongly W with 2 Goldfinches.

Tree Sparrows are very scarce in our area but the bird has a very extensive range, I photographed this one in Assam , NE India, in April.
