Country Park Visit

Yesterday I spent some time at Firehills, walking paths I don’t usually visit. Amongst lots of bees on bramble flowers were 2 Tree Bumblebees-they seem everywhere now; a Green Haistreak showed well too. A singing Willow Warbler was presumably a late migrant.

On the way down to Warren Glen I stopped to have a good look at a couple of the plants we saw on the Wildflower Walk-Slender and Trailing St . John’s Wort, both grow beside the path below the viewpont seat.

At Ecclesbourne Meadow a Reed Warbler singing in clifftop scrub was another late migrant. and another Green Hairstreak was beside the coast path.
