Fairlight moths and birds

As well as the moths in our Fairlight garden trap yesterday, I later found this Red Twin Spot Carpet in some vegetation. A common but attractive moth , which I ‘ve only caught here  in one previous year-2009.

This morning, setting off for my regular circular walk from Fairlight to Pett Levels, I was delighted to hear a Nightingale singing just a few hundred yards from home, audible from the public footpath that starts opposite Waites Lane. This is the first one Ive ever heard singing in our area ; it was still singing when I returned 3 hours later. Time will tell whether this was a migrant or a territorial bird.
