Today I led a guided walk for spring migrants around the Warren and Fairlight Glen parts of Hastings Country Park NR. As well as the breeding migrant warblers, notably lots of Whitethroats, we saw 7 Swallows and a House Martin heading E, a Wheatear in one of the Barley Lane fields, and heard a Tree Pipit . Hardly a major fall, but in fact better than usual for this very quiet spring. The group also had good views of Raven and a very smart and obliging singing male Yellowhammer.
