Patio Moths

The 19 April proved to be one of the best moth nights so far this year, which will continue to be out-done at this rate. We had 21 sp. and 98 moths counted.

We had several new species for the year including Diamond Back, Flame Carpet, Red Twin-spot Carpet, Shuttle-shaped Dart, V-pug and a White-spotted Pug. Oddly we also had our first Red Admiral of the year show up to the trap.

We had one new species for us, the very impressive Puss Moth, the only problem is that he won’t go away. He keeps returning each night now.

On 20 April we had an ok night, only note worthy moth was a Knot Grass which is NFY for us.

Last nights catch was pretty good as well with a few NFY species, I’ll have to post later.
