Turnstone increase

An increasingly wet walk from the Stade to Bexhill yesterday [March 18] produced a high count of 251 Turnstones, compared with just 80 on March 2, when it appeared that many birds had left. The lone Purple Sandpiper was still at Glyne-0n rocks by the eastern end of the sandy cliffs, but I saw little else apart from a scattering of Great Crested Grebes close inshore.
