‘A spectacular onset of spring passage this morning with 1800 Chaffinches passing eastwards in flocks of up to 70 birds. They were joined by parties of Black-headed gulls totalling 160. There was also some passage of Carrion crows with 23 in or west, 4 Rooks and several Jackdaws north. Others heading east included 106 Starlings. 13 Woodpigeons. 10 Siskins and 4 Meadow pipits.
