Goose passage continues

Brent Geese continue to head east. During a  90 minute watch in heavy rain yesterday [Feb 26] 215 came past in groups of up to 65, one group contained a lone Shelduck. There were about 10 Gannets fishing, a few Kittiwakes and GC Grebes, 3 Red Throated Divers E and 22 auks [the first for some time ] W.

Amongst the Herring Gulls feeding in the surf was a smart Northern Herring Gull in breeding plumage [unstreaked head]; quite obvious with its darker mantle and more white in the wing tips.
