Sea (Bexhill – Galley hill)

c. 90 Common Scoter on sea

40+ GC Grebe on sea

6 RT Diver W

30 Wigeon (flew around and settled on sea at Galley Hill).

Bulverhythe

c60 turnstone (low numbers)

15 Oystercatcher

2 Grey Plover

1 Knot

2 Golden Plover

1 Redshank

Filsham/Coombe Haven

Bittern, goosander, water pipits, snipe.
Flock of around 40 skylark roaming the area. Redwings and fieldfares everywhere.
10 Wigeon and 4 snipe feeding on the field at Ravenside.

  1. Hi Joe and welcome back,

    just a note to say that today (21st) Mike noted a large flock of Wigeon offshore from West St Leonards – they drifted to off Glyne Gap at noon. There were certainly 300 together at one stage and also 4 Gadwalls and a party of 9 Teals on the sea. A further 50 Wigeons flying east off St Leonards were in addition to these. Also noted at least 30 Great crested grebes, a Guillemot and the Knot on the beach.
