Turnstone departure

Having been away in India for over two weeks I missed the recent bad weather and its effect on bird numbers. However a walk in warm sunshine from The Stade to Bexhill yesterday [14th] suggested that the local Turnstones had moved out, with no sizeable groups found and a total of just 87-usually over 200.

There was nothing of note at all on the sea, but Hastings seafront gardens held 2 surprises-a Rock Pipit feeding on one of the islands in Swan Lake, and a Chiffchaff in a nearby flower bed,
