West Hill 08.00 – 08.15 SB, MG
Woodpigeon 16e, 28w, Goldfinch 51e, Meadow Pipit 5e, White Wagtail 2 in on ground, Swallow 55e, Chaffinch 2e, 1n.

West Hill 07.15 – 09.15 AG, SB
Greenfinch 7 e. Goldfinch 414 e. Pied/White wagtail 35 in or e. Grey wagtail 3 over. Skylark 4 in. Fieldfare 1 in. Brambling 15 e. Chaffinch 66 over. Siskin 71 e. Redpoll 4 e. Linnet 22 e. Blue tit 12 including several singles dropping in. 10 Robins. (Also of note – 2 Raven)


An interesting sight as we broke off the watch for coffee in the High Street. A Goldcrest flew weakly in, landing on the wall by the street sign. It was exhausted and emaciated, unable to move from the shelter of the campanula growing there. A sign of the harsh conditions that these tiny birds can face as they journey out of northern lands….
