Red crested pochard

At last managed to connect with the eclipse male Red-crested Pochard at Shornden in Alexandra Park, it obviously has some ‘blonde’ genes in it and was also coming to bread. When wild ducks occur even during the harshest winter weather it takes them several days or even weeks to link bread to food. This suggests that it has been fed by hand recently and as the ‘blonde’ gene is not in the wild population it is obviously a rather recent escapee.

A rather better sighting were 2 FIRECREST, one by Harmers and the other at Shornden, amongst a moderate fall of GOLDCREST.
