WSW or NW f3 or 4 occasionally 6 later, clear at first, mist in lower areas clearing to sunny intervals & showers, variable.

Great Spotted Woodpecker 3 in off sea, 1w, Swallow 15w, House Martin 35w, Yellow Wagtail 1w, Pied Wagtail 12e, Meadow Pipit 30w, Reed Bunting 9w, chaffinch 21w, Redpoll 1 in off sea, Siskin 2 in off sea, Goldfinch 5 in off sea, 4 Goldcrest, 1 Firecrest, 1 Willow Warbler, 29 Chiffchaff, 5 Blackcap, 1 Common Whitethroat.

West Hill 06.30 – 07.50 AG
Grey Heron 1w, Meadow Pipit 7w, Grey Wagtail 1w, Chafffinch 5w. 17 Robin, 17 Chiffchaff, 6 Blue Tit, 4 Great Tit.

Torfield 07.05 – 07.50 SB
22 Chiffchaff, 3 Blackcap, 1 Great Tit, 4 Robin, 2 Dunnock, 8 Blue Tit (flock high in sycamore with some Chiffchaffs)

West Hill 12.00 – 13.00 MG
Swallow 140e, House Martin 50e, Meadow Pipit 25 in, 1 Wheatear.
Fairlight car park 15.30
Meadow Pipit 120e, 1 Grasshopper Warbler. Hirundines heading east approx. 30 per minute.
West Hill 17.00
The very unusual sight of Swallows resting on the grass, up to 5 in any one time.

Additional note:- 10.00 – 11.00 hundreds of mostly House Martin overhead feeding and drifting west, followed by intermittent passage throughout most of the day, then mainly east.
