Stopping off to feed

Migrant Meadow Pipits frequently break their journey through the country park NR to feed in the rough grass in the grazed meadows. Yellow Wagtails, a scarcer migrant, often drop in to feed, sometimes quite briefly, around the feet of the cattle who graze the fields and meadows. It can be difficult to spot them all amongst the grass, but they often fly up together to reveal an unexpectedly large number. This morning, 14 were with the cattle near Barn Pond
