Moths at Fairlight

Despite the wet and windy weather, a good range of moths in our Fairlight Garden trap this morning. Most obvious was a Red Underwing, a very large moth which was a first  for the garden.  New for this year were Peppered, Lesser Broad Bordered and Broad Bordered Yellow Underwings, Small Phoenix, Early Thorn, Marbled Beauty and Cabbage.

Large Yellow Underwing, usually abundant, remains remarkably scarce, just one today
